WELCOME HOME
Lil Wayne released from New York’s Rikers Island prison Thursday. The Grammy-winning rapper was put away on a weapons charge, spending the last weeks in solitary after he was caught with contraband digital-music player components. He still managed to get his last CD to hit No. 1 last month, and his record label is planning a star-studded Miami “welcome home” party this weekend. Asked about his release during a get-out-the-vote interview on Pittsburgh radio, Bill Clinton expressed confidence that Weezy will rebound: “This guy’s smart, and he’s got ability, and he’s got a new chance now.”
